Illustrating a monster is fun, but if you are unfamiliar with desktop publishing it can feel a bit overwhelming to finalize the PDF. To help you hit the ground running, we’ve put together an Adobe InDesign template and visual assets tailored for the Fäng Monster Jam.
Whether you’re comfortable with layout software or just trying it for the first time, these tools are here to make your creative process smoother – and more fun.

A Palette Inspired by the Past
Also baked into the template is a custom color swatch, sampled directly from Art Seiden’s fairy tale illustrations, which is a palette originally used in the Fäng core book. These tones balance warmth, contrast, and a vintage storybook charm. You’re welcome to use them, or replace them with a palette that better suits your own tale.

Using the Templates
To help set the mood, we’ve included four sample layouts to show how you can combine all the elements
- Name/Title – Use a font that you feel represents your monster. Learn more about typography
- Description – Provide a bit of detail on how your monster operates, in both strategy and goals.
- Stats – Provide any unique features, the stats, Critical Attack and Scar they leave to victims.
- Image – Let your artwork shine, keeping in mind that you want to have a transparent background if you are choosing a colored background.
